Go Take a Bath Stinky Turkey!Thanksgiving can be cozy, fun, stressful, or all of the above. If you’re spending the evening with family or friends, it’s a great time to reconnect after the busy year. If you’re hosting, it can feel festive and exciting, but you may find yourself riddled with anxiety the night before. Between preparing your meal, planning activities, and seeing your meddlesome in-laws or that crazy uncle you’ve never really cared for, you feel pressure to make the day as enjoyable as possible.

Why not take this opportunity to treat yourself to a “time out”, to truly pamper yourself? By taking a bath, you’ll lower your stress level while getting some much-needed time to yourself. Since this week is probably filled with preparations, traveling, or back-to-back plans, you’ll need to rest and rejuvenate.

Here’s an idea: take a bath the night before the big day, with a focus on relaxation and rejuvenation. Then, take a bath after everyone leaves, to center and re-balance yourself after all that activity. Through the use of the right bath salts, you’ll achieve the desired results.

Here’s the perfect recipe for each!

Pre-Thanksgiving Bath:
For this bath, you’ll want to use a combination of relaxing and rejuvenating elements in your bath. Try mixing in some bath salts infused with mint or citrus scents to give you an energy boost, and add a soothing bath salt such as our “Tranquility” blend. Color is important as well - bright, lighter colors will refresh you, and “cooler” colors will calm you. Mix and match to perfection!

Post-Thanksgiving Bath:
Now that everyone is gone, you can treat yourself to the perfect, calming bath and follow up with a good night’s sleep. Scents like lavender and vanilla are good choices for a bath before bedtime, as they lower blood pressure and relax you from the inside out. Choose bath salts in blues, purples, or soft greens to calm you even more.

For each bath, dim the lights - or turn them off altogether and light some candles. Play your favorite music softly in the background. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and think of nothing but how the your body feels in the water. Be sure your friends and family know that this is your time to be alone; no interruptions.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

As we all know, time takes its toll on us and as we get older we seem to search more and more for the real fountain of youth. We begin to see changes in ourselves, from fine lines and wrinkles to a few more gray hairs. Whatever the side-effects, humans are not fond of the aging process, and we often resort to treatments that are ridiculous at best, painful and dangerous at worst. We nip and tuck, pull and tighten, stretch and massage our way to eternal youth. Only, it doesn’t work that way – no matter what we do, we are still aging.

You could get botox treatments, a face lift, liposuction. You could spend hundreds of dollars on empty promises: expensive lotions and “miracle” creams that don’t really work.

Or, you could take a bath once a week – Could this possibly be the fountain of youth we have been searching for?

That’s right – bathing is a healthy, enjoyable way to restore your body’s youth and vitality. Certain types of bath salts contain powerful minerals that replenish moisture in our skin, aid in our defense against elements such as sun and pollution, tighten and detoxify our pores. In addition, bathing is a wonderful way to relax and unwind, making us look and feel younger.

How does it work? First, you need high quality bath salts that naturally contain essential minerals and nutrients for the body such as magnesium, bromide, calcium, iodine, potassium. Magnesium aids in cell metabolism; bromide soothes the skin and relaxes nerves; calcium is known to strengthen bones and teeth while cleansing the pores of the skin; iodine aids in the body’s metabolic exchanges; potassium reduces water retention. These minerals all work to condition our skin, making it more resilient and able to defend against the elements.

The wrinkles and fine lines that we see as we get older are the result of a combination of factors. Sun exposure, stress, heredity, climate conditions and diet all contribute to our skin’s aging. Sea salts have been shown to decrease the depth of wrinkling by 40%. The minerals in
Sea Sea
salts draw out impurities and detoxify the skin, breaking down deposits that often get trapped just under the top layers of the skin and resulting in what we commonly refer to as cellulite. The salts also soothe and moisturize your skin, the result: your skin is smooth and supple, looking and feeling years younger.

Let’s not forget the biggest accelerator of the aging process: stress. Stress causes us to stay awake at night and not get enough sleep; it causes us to furrow our brows and frown (not helpful in making us look or feel youthful); it has more serious side effects such as heart disease. Taking a bath a few times a week will not only give you some much-needed quiet time – it will make you feel calmer and more relaxed during your hectic days. Start taking regular baths with some luxurious bath salts. Add your favorite scent, light some candles, and get ready for a younger, more vibrant body and mind. Maybe the fountain of youth is just a bath away!

Pier 39 Bath SaltsWe're at Pier 39!

We have set up shop again this winter in the bustling and colorful Pier 39 in San Francisco. We're excited to bring a vast array of our high-quality bath salts to the waterfront, so that folks from around the world can see them up close and choose the bath salt that's right for them.

The bath salts are displayed in large, farmers-market style bins and are available in over 24 different scents and colors. When you get here, you choose a bottle and fill it with the bath salts of your choice. We encourage you to mix and match, and fill it to not only smell great but to look beautiful by the side of your tub. The salts are made from real Pacific Sea Salt, and we do not wash or treat the salts. This ensures that the salts you take home are filled with the natural minerals and nutrients found in the Pacific ocean.

There are many reasons to visit Pier 39. It's one of the hottest tourist attractions in the city, with more than 110 shops and 12 restaurants featuring great food and glorious views of San Francisco Bay. When you arrive at Pier 39, you'll be greeted by magicians, musicians, and other street performers. At the Aquarium of the Bay, you'll be able to get up close and personal with upwards of 200,000 creatures who call the San Francisco Bay their home. You can choose from many different tours, on both land and sea. There is a huge arcade, a carousel, and don't forget to see the sea lions that hang out in the West Marina.

Pier 39 is also known to sell the largest variety of souvenirs anywhere in the city. You'll find hats, t-shirts, keychains, stuffed animals, and much more. But we all know that most souvenirs are bought on a whim and then forgotten. Souvenirs can make a fun gift, but your family and friends would surely appreciate something a bit more personal. Our bath salts are the best souvenir you'll find at Pier 39. In addition to serving as a nice reminder of your time spent in San Francisco, our bath salts make a great gift. You can choose the bath salts that best fit your friends and choose scents and colors that will energize, calm, and beautify those you love.

Our bath salts are beautiful and unique, and they also offer a wide variety of benefits.  When you take a bath with our bath salts, your skin's condition will improve (our salts balance and moisturize all skin types), your stress level will decrease, you'll get a better night's sleep, and you'll enjoy a more youthful glow. They will deliver results that will make you feel like you've been to the spa - for a fraction of the price.

Stop by our store at Pier 39 and fill a bottle with your favorite bath salts, and take a piece of San Francisco home with you!

Take a BathAhh. You’ve come home from work, exhausted, stressed and fatigued. First thing that’s on your mind? A quick shower, perhaps? “That will relax me!” you tell yourself.

Wrong! A quick shower is not what the body ordered. What’s better? Bathing. Indeed, a nice hot bath with some fragrant, healing bath salts will soothe away the day’s aches and pains and clear your mind of internal clutter.

Civilizations for centuries have realized the benefits bathing offers. You’ve seen portrayals of bath houses in films, haven’t you? These depictions are spot on historically accurate. Think about the Roman bath houses and medieval bathing rules. People did bathe back then, you know. In fact, they bathed even on Sundays, the day of rest, and they washed their hands before meals! In addition, the Japanese have elaborate and tempting rituals, soaking for a while before they wash, really enjoying the full benefits of a bath. Think about this history, how enjoyable you remember it seeming, and then think BATH!

And as you’re filling up the tub, don’t forget the Bath Salts! They’re aromatic and healing, promoting relaxation and wellness. Adding such salts can improve circulation and reduce tenderness and inflammation. Sore back? Muscle pain? Arthritis? Fibromyalgia? You can help all these problems by just taking a dip in bath-salted water.

Also, bath salts open the pores, purifying the skin and making it smooth as silk. Your dry skin can get moister through a bath, and insect bites, eczema and athlete’s foot can all melt away after you start a bathing ritual. Calluses on your feet will get softer as the bath salts circulate around you, not only cleansing you but also healing you. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

If you want to relax even more and really alleviate the day’s stress, add aromatherapy bath salts. Infused with scents, these stimulate calmness, generating even further relaxation. Coupled with that relaxation is a good night’s sleep, with which bath salts can help. Who doesn’t need that?

So now it’s time to take a break from this glaring computer screen and hop in the tub. All you have to lose is your stress, aches and pains. Enjoy the delights of this high-quality relaxation technique today.

Wedding Shower FavorsIs your friend getting hitched, and you’re trying to find the perfect gift for her wedding shower. Everything is either too expensive, or not personal enough. You’re running out of time and you have yet to find something she would enjoy.

Here’s an idea: buy her some bath salts! High quality bath salts are wonderful for the skin and for the mood. Chances are, she’s stressed out about the wedding and needs some serious decompressing time. Bathing will give her the time alone she needs, away from family and friends, to relax and pamper herself.

Buy some pretty bags and fill them with different bath salts - Dead Sea salts or Himalayan salts are good choices, infused with a variety of scents to suit every need (to calm her, to ensure a good night’s sleep, to soften her skin, to make her feel sexier and more romantic, etc). You can choose different colors and create a very personal - an inexpensive - gift that she will truly enjoy.
