In honor of the spring season, give these floral recipes a try. And don’t forget all the little touches to make your bath truly enjoyable- some peaceful music, either classical or sounds from nature, a few aromatic candles for soft lighting and a closed door to keep all the distractions away.  Remember to bring a warm, fluffy towel and your favorite pair of slippers into the room with you.

Romantic Bath

1 cup Himalayan Salt in fine
8 drops of Geranium Essential Oil
1 handful of fresh rose petals

Sweet Dreams

1 cup Pacific Sea Salt in medium
8 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
1 small handful of lavender herbs

 Zen Bath

1 cup Dead Sea Salt in fine
3 drops of Neroli Fragrance Oil
1 small handful of cherry blossoms

For each recipe :  In a small bowl blend the scent evenly into the salt (use latex gloves if you use your hands to mix).  While filling your tub with warm water, pour the bath salts into the tub.  Sprinkle the flowers onto the water.  Now you are on your way to pure bliss...

Our Ibiza Natural Sea Salt comes from the pristine waters of the Mediterranean Sea in Europe. We have selected this salt for its purity and crystal white, beautiful appearance and are proud to offer this salt to enhance your bathing experience!

The Ibiza European Salt is produced using ancient methods of solar evaporation. The Mediterranean region that these salts are produced from is free of pollution and has high evaporation rates, making it one of the purest salts in the world! It contains trace elements such as Iodine, Fluorine, Magnesium and Potassium.

Europeans were among the first to produce this salt commercially and recognize its health benefits. One of the many benefits of bathing with the Ibiza is its ability to soothe muscle aches and pains.

These raw salts are available in fine, medium and coarse and are ideal for creating your own bath saltssalt scrubs, and a variety of other bath and body products.

In addition to the many uses of the Ibiza European Sea Salt, it is also food grade which means that it can be used as an alternative to the ordinary table salt!

 Bath Quote of the Week:

“There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won't cure, but I don't know many of them.”

Sylvia Plath ~  Poet

Though our company’s namesake is in bath salts, we also have a selection of gourmet food grade salts from around the world! These raw, 100% natural salts are a tasty substitute for the ordinary table salt.

The typical table salt goes through a chemical process which “cleans” the salt. This treatment often strips the salt of its minerals and nutrients leaving sodium chloride behind. This somewhat unnatural form of salt is difficult for our bodies to utilize and digest. The following food grade, gourmet salts are in their natural, pure form and contain many minerals and nutrients which are essential to the overall health and well being of our bodies. To find out more information about our gourmet food salts please click on the links below. More information on these salts to follow soon on our website!

Sherpa Pink Himalayan Salt - From the heart of the Himalayas this salt contains 84 trace elements that provides us with the minerals our body needs to be replenished of including Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper and Iron. These salts have a beautiful pink coloring to them which occurs naturally because of its high mineral content.

Utah Red Kosher Sea Salt - Derived from a prehistoric salt deposit in Redmond, Utah this salt contains over 50 trace minerals including Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium. Color is a reddish-pink, naturally occurring from the minerals.

Ibiza European Sea Salt - From the Mediterranean Sea. This salt contains Calcium, Magnesium and other trace minerals. Ibiza’s crystals are pure white in color.

Choosing your grain size - The Sherpa Pink Himalayan Salts is available in extra-fine which can go right in your regular salt shaker. The other grain sizes of these salts: fine, medium and coarse will require a salt grinder or salt mill, which you can find at gourmet food markets and kitchen supply stores.

Please do not confuse these salts with our other natural salts, as not all of our salts are for consumption.

Make your very own Bath Bombs at home!

You will need:

2 lbs Citric Acid
4 lbs Baking Soda
1 lb Calspa Pacific Sea Salt Fine Grain
0.5 oz Food Coloring*
0.5 oz Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil (on average*)
Water in a spray bottle
Bath Bomb Molds 10 oz
Latex Gloves

Directions:

Mix the citric acid, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl.
Add the scent, a couple drops at a time, while mixing with your hands (use gloves to add scent & color).
Then, add the coloring to the mixture. Use your hands to work the color evenly into the blend.
Spray in just enough water so that the ingredients become tacky, if needed.
Pack into each side of the mold adding a little more into the middle. Put the two sides of the mold together.
Allow mold to set for about 5 minutes, then carefully remove the bath bombs from the molds.
Repeat these steps until all of the mixture has been used. This should make about 12, 10 oz bath bombs.Let the bath bombs thoroughly dry so that they become hardened (1-2 days). To maintain scent, package in zip-lock bags.

Add 1 bath bomb to your bath for a delightfully fizzy soak that smells wonderful.

*If your salt is already colored and scented, proceed without the scent & color and just add water to make the ingredients tacky.

Sea Salt is full of minerals that are essential for healthy, beautiful hair.

Our Minera Dead Sea Salt contains Magnesium, Potasium and Sulfates which are known to strengthen hair and regulate circulation. It also contains Calcium which is vital for healthy hair growth.

Though not a sea salt, our Epsoak Epsom Salt is a pure compound of Magnesium Sulfate. This salt is very beneficial for hair as well.

Here are some common hair problems that can be tended to by using Sea Salt.

Dandruff: Regulate circulation on your scalp by massaging a couple tablespoons of Dead Sea Salt into your scalp (apply to wet hair) and then follow with a dandruff shampoo.

Hair Loss: Massaging Dead Sea Salt into the scalp has been shown to improve circulation and stimulate hair re-growth. Rub a few tablespoons into your scalp before shampooing.

Flat Hair: Add volume to your hair by mixing equal parts of Epsom Salt and conditioner. Heat the blend in a microwave safe container for 15 seconds or less, just long enough to slightly warm up the mixture. Massage the salt/conditioner mixture into your scalp and leave on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

*For a quick way to add body and waves to your hair, mix a couple tablespoons of Epsom Salt to water and put in a spray bottle.  Spray salt water onto slightly damp hair, tossle your hair a bit and allow your hair to air dry.

Oily Hair: To purify your hair, removing any oil, dirt and toxins add a teaspoon of Epsom Salt to a shampoo for oily hair (make sure your shampoo is PH balanced) and work into your scalp. Rinse well with cool water. Condition your hair focussing on the ends and not the scalp.

While sea salt has been shown to aide the following hair dilemmas, everyone is different so not everyone may obtain the same results. Check with your sylist before trying any of these recipes if you have color treated hair.
