Choosing the right salt texture and
grain size is important when choosing your
bath salt or
salt scrub product - salt comes in many textures and sizes and each carries specific benefits. Different
grain sizes can be chosen depending on how you intend to use the salt. Because of all the choices, it can get confusing! To reap good results, you must choose the right type of salt.
When choosing salts, you have to consider how you will use them. Finer salts are usually used for salt scrubs, while larger grain sizes are more suitable to dissolved in water as a bath soak.
Another thing to consider when choosing salt grain sizes is that each size and texture dissolve differently. If you want the salts to dissolve quickly, you should choose finer salts. Just remember that the finer the salts, the faster will it dissolve, which is ideal when you use the salt as a scrub or exfoliating product. For variety, you may want a combination of fine salts mixed with large salt chunks. That way the salt can be used both as a soak and as a scrub.
Fine-grain salt is wonderful for exfoliation and best for those of us with sensitive skin. Finer salts are gentler and not as harsh as the larger size salts. At the same time, you don¢t want your scrubbing salt to be too fine, since you would want your salt scrub to have some texture in order for it to actually scrub your skin and be effective. With the right grain size, your skin will be smooth, soft and clean - without irritation. When you prepare for a long, decadent bathing session, it's also OK to choose larger chunks (or mix some into the finer salt) so it takes a little while to dissolve.
