It all started back in early 1999 - Exhausted and mentally tired after a long, hard day's work and a 2-hour commute home, our founder (Lee Williamson) enjoyed nothing better than to take a long relaxing bath soak. Sitting alone in the bath, with the lights turned down, he would relax into a world of his own and wind down from the stresses of everyday life working in the fast-paced Silicon Valley. He would think about the days when he was a kid back in England, taking a bath every night, a time when life seemed much more simple and fun. This is when the seed was planted and when his ideas began to sprout.

So he did some investigating on taking baths, and it turns out that compared to the British and many other European nations, Americans spend very little time bathing and more time rushing to get into the shower, rushing to get out and rushing to go no-where. Another thing he noticed is that bathing really wasn't being promoted that well.

Lee spent the next few months experimenting & researching different bathing products to find out which one would offer the best bathing experience in the most natural way possible. From the start it quickly became evident that there really was only one product that stood out from the rest - Bath Salts, Nature's miracle cure to renewing dry skin, soothing aching muscles and freeing a cluttered and stressed mind.

Lee's vision for the potential of bath salts became huge and would be a daunting task alone, and probably not as much fun to take on solo. It was at this time that the universe aligned the stars and Lee's childhood friend Dan, who had his background in Sports Science, was visiting from England. It only took 10 minutes of Lee's excited sales pitch to Dan to convince him that the future of bathing was in Bath Salts. They shook hands and that moment the San Francisco Bath Salt Company was created, two childhood friends from England became business partners, and the philosophy of  "relaxing the world one bath at a time" was born. We know it's a BIG idea, relaxing the world, so for now we'll be happy to just entice a few more people to turn off the TV and take a relaxing bath with one of our many luxury bath salts.

Much has happened in the last 7 years since its inception, and the San  Francisco Bath Salt Company brand has now grown to become well-recognized as the leader in bath salt products. As well as our own line of products that we market to day spas and bath and body boutiques, we now also manufacture for many brand name bath and body companies. With the growth of the company and the growing demand for bath salts, life has become a little fast paced again, but in a good way. And no matter how busy we are we always ensure there is time for ourselves and our families to take a relaxing and soothing bath.....
